  • Restore a random file from backup to check integrity of backup tapes
  • Check free space on disk drives, especially on servers

Equipment Rotation Scheduling - We will review the customer's current PC equipment situation, and then make recommendations on how systems should be switched out and retired. This is based on how many systems are at the customer's location, how the systems are used, budgetary concerns, and preferences. By doing this, customer's can even out their budgets by having a set schedule of replacing a few PCs at a time rather then replacing many or all at once. This also has tax benefits as new computer systems can be written off each year. We will meet with the customer, create the schedule, and then replace systems for them on that schedule.

Data Backup Services - Protecting your data and vital business information is extremely important in today's world. Nearly everything is run through computers and if that data were ever lost it can be very difficult to recover. Approximately 70% of businesses that have suffered a severe data loss close down within 18 months. We can help to protect your data at many levels by setting up redundancy and backup procedures. We start by ensuring uptime with fault tolerant RAID arrays so that if a hard drive in your server were to fail you could continue operation until it can be replaced. Next we offer a magnetic tape backup system to recover individual files or the whole system in the event of an accidental deletion or even a catastrophic system failure. Finally, in the event of a complete disaster such as fire, flood, or other Act of God, we recommend an off-site solution. This can consist of taking a recent copy of the backup tape off-site, using removable external hard drives, backing up your servers to an off-site server over the internet, or some combination of the three. Soon we will be offering our own Remote Backup Service where our servers will act as your remote backup. We can customize our Data Backup Services to whatever the client feels comfortable with.

IT Inventory - With the IT Inventory service we inventory the customer's complete infrastructure. This includes network maps from the customer's external internet connection to each individual system, complete hardware and software inventory of each system and server, and any other information that is deemed useful. With this information in hand customers can be more organized, they can get better targeted support and planning, check license compliancy, and more.

System Assessment - Is your network as secure as it can be? With the system assessment we will check that. This service starts by checking the security on your external connection by running security checks on your internet connection. We can check whether there are any holes in your internet firewall and how to plug them. Then we will check internal systems and servers for security holes to reduce the risk of an internal outbreak from happening. After checking security, we will look at other aspects of your infrastructure. This includes checking your current power management setup and recommending UPS solutions for critical systems (or all systems in cases where power issues are frequent). We will look at your current anti-virus and anti-spyware situation and see where things could be improved for better efficiency and easier management. Other issues are also likely to come up on a case by case basis.

Network Design and Engineering - This service is about planning, setup, and installation of networks of all sizes. If you are not satisfied with your current network setup, or don't currently have one, then this will rectify it. We will look at the customer's current network setup (or lack thereof), and make recommendations on where to put or add network plug-in locations, where to locate servers, systems, and printers, and then put in those devices. This service is best for customer's who are setting up a network from scratch, but can be scaled for any situation, even if it is just adding another station to the current setup.

Network and PC Support - When you think of traditional computer support, this is the service that comes to mind. This is standard break-fix support. When a customer has an unexpected system or critical error and needs it fixed as soon as possible, they can call on us. We will attempt to get there right away, or as soon as we can make it. This can include evenings and weekends as necessary, though at a slightly higher rate for those situations.

QuickBooks Support - Many small businesses today use Intuit's popular QuickBooks accounting software, but not everyone knows how to best utilize it. We have a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor on staff who can help customers with their QuickBooks training and problems. The support can cover anything from initial training for users who have not used the software before, to advanced applications of the software. We can also help with problems and issues that might come up while using QuickBooks, because we have access to extensive knowledge bases and other available support sources. QuickBooks support is offered either onsite or remotely after an initial onsite visit.

Microsoft Software Training - We also offer onsite training for various Microsoft software products. We customize this training to our client's needs. We can start with something as simple as basic Windows usage for users who are new to computers or the operating system. Then we can show customer's how to use the Microsoft web browser, Internet Explorer. While surfing the internet with IE may seem like a simple task, there are many things to keep in mind such as how to avoid "bad" sites and keep spyware out of your system. We can do training on Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office products as well. Again we can train on anything from basic usage to advanced topics. Just let us know what you want to do and we'll tell you how to do it on the Microsoft software (if it is possible, that is).

Website Maintenance and Development - If you have a website that you would like to be occasionally updated, or would like to create a simple and efficient website from scratch, we can help you. We will create a website for your business, the way you would like it to be done. After the website is created we can change things and do updates as often as you wish. If you would like to do the updating yourself, we can train an employee to use Microsoft FrontPage to do quick and easy web page editing.
